This is a plain-English summary of how Baconnoisseur handles your data. It applies to our website (www.baconnoisseur.com) and our mobile apps.

What we collect

• Account info: If you sign up, we store your email address (or Apple/Google ID) and a handle you choose. You can also use the app fully anonymously — we create a guest ID with no personal information.
• Ratings and photos: The dishes you rate, scores you give, and any photos you upload are stored on our servers and shown publicly alongside your handle.
• Location: If you allow it, we use your location to show nearby restaurants. We do not store a history of your location or sell it.
• Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (page views, referrers, device types). No personally identifiable information is sent to Google by us.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data to anyone.
• We don't run ads.
• We don't track you across other apps or websites.
• We don't ask for information we don't need.

Data storage

Your data lives in Supabase (Postgres database) hosted in the United States. Passwords are never stored in plaintext; we use industry-standard hashing. Communication with our servers is always over HTTPS.

Your rights

You can delete your account at any time from the app's Profile screen, which removes your ratings, photos, and account data. If you'd rather email us, write to hello@baconnoisseur.com and we'll handle it within 30 days.

If you're in the EU or UK, you have rights under GDPR including access, correction, deletion, and portability. Same email works.

If you're in California, you have rights under CCPA. Same email.

Children

Baconnoisseur is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes

If we update this policy we'll post the new version here and bump the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be announced in the app.
